Putting ourselves out there.

As cliché as it may sound, being part of the music industry is not for the faint hearted. It entails long hours, perseverance and relentlessly keeping yourself relevant.

Doing this means attending gigs and networking events, whether you’re feeling like the friendliest person on this earth that day or not. As we’ve constantly been reminded throughout lectures at BIMM, the relationships you build are what will sustain your career throughout the years.

There are two upcoming events which present a great opportunity to do the above, so if you haven’t already, get your diaries out and take note.

The Ultimate Seminar 2014

”The Ultimate Seminar is the place to discover insiders’ knowledge of the Music Industry. Led by industry influences, this one day event is a must for all those wanting to pursue a career in Music, gain insiders  knowledge, network and access information about the music industry.”

With an impressive list of established music professionals leading each panel it is a crucial event to attend. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Indie Con 2014

”The event will bring together the independent music sector for a day of workshops, panels, presentations and interviews with key players in the industry.”

Attendees can select to view larger panels and presentations or more intimate panels and interviews according to their preference. The River Room bar, a beautiful space overlooking The River Thames, will be open throughout the day for networking drinks and a delicious networking buffet lunch will be included for all delegates.

The list of established speakers includes professionals from MTV, The BBC, PRS for Music Foundation and Basick Records.
